We’re Kevin and Heather, and we’re about to begin a new chapter aboard our 42 Kadey Krogen as we set off—at our own pace and in stages—on America’s Great Loop, traveling with our cat, Wimbi, as our first mate.
This journey isn’t just about covering miles or checking off destinations. It’s about learning the rhythm of life on the water: navigating sometimes shallow and always changing routes, reading the weather a little more closely than we used to, and figuring out what it really means to make a home that moves.
Along the way, we’ll share the real experience—what works, what doesn’t, and what surprises us. From quiet anchorages and busy marinas to unexpected challenges and long stretches of calm water, this is life as it happens aboard.
And because every great journey is better shared, we’ll also be highlighting the good parts off the water too: memorable meals, great drinks, and the camaraderie of the people we meet along the way.
